How will you make an impact in this role?

Offers & Benefits are a critical part of AXP Value proposition to Cardmembers and the process in Controllership manages the overall accounting for Amex Offers & Benefits e.g. Statement Credits.

This position will act as a Project Manager and will be responsible to provide analysis and inputs on project initiatives, define Finance requirements, collaborate for creating user stories, and advice system controls to be in place to ensure financial integrity of accounting and reporting. This is a People Leader role.

The incumbent will work closely with Technology Partners and other stakeholders across AXP like Business, GFII, Segment Controllers for managing projects related to Amex Offers & Benefits, especially R42 platform migrations.

Role will require strong focus on project management, collaboration across teams, understanding of existing processes & linkages across AXP processes and systems. A good knowledge of A/R systems, Offers & Benefits Fulfillment Engines, Oracle General Ledger, FBPM, IRIS etc. will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities: -

The incumbent will ensure that integrity, control and optimal functionality is maintained to ensure consistent delivery of project and processes and associated cost/quality/ control metrics.
The incumbent shall ensure compliance with all prevalent policies and procedures linked to the area and processes assigned to him / her
Independently research and provide solutions and support for resolution of issues and queries
Challenge the status quo and drive innovation and automation to reduce risk and enhance efficiency in core areas of Financial Accounting and Analytics.
Provide leadership support and guidance to the immediate team and beyond.
The incumbent must be able to work with, communicate and influence all levels of management and be self-driven with minimal supervision.
Deliver high quality and accurate milestone reporting with adherence to critical deadlines.

Past Experience: - Key AXP Projects, Accounting, Reconciliations, Reporting, Oracle and other AXP Technology Platforms, MS office Academic

Required Qualifications: Academic -The incumbent should be a qualified accountant (CA, CMA) or MBA with at least 8 years of post-qualification experience or 12 years of post-qualification experience with B Com/ M Com / CA Intermediate.

Required Qualifications: Additional:

Strong project management experience with Fintech skills. Any experience for AXP key project/ System Implementations will be an advantage
Good understanding / aptitude for Technology architecture and Data flows in Accounting, Reconciliation, Automation, Reporting e.g. R42, BEQ, RC, FBPM.
Should be able to work independently with minimal supervision during situations with ambiguity
Incumbent needs to be flexible and able to perform responsibilities at different times of the day given multiple teams engaged at given geographical coverage.
Strong accounting (US GAAP / IFRS) & reconciliation knowledge, policy awareness & control mindset.
Demonstrated leadership is needed to create, develop, train a diversified colleague base and promote diversity in all respects.
Ability to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvements.
Quick learner, an eye for detail and ability to work during ambiguity.
Strong collaborative and relationship building skills AND proven ability to effectively influence senior finance and business partners
Strategic thinker, good communicator in both written and oral form, with proven ability to lead global change initiatives
Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize multiple tasks under defined timelines
