Job Description

As a Software Development Manager in Transact org, you will work to enable the movement of critical Amazon data allowing business service workloads to operate regions of their choice. The end-state architecture will enable services to break region coupling while retaining the ability to keep critical business functions within a region. This architecture will improve customer latency through local affinity to compute resources and reduce the blast radius in case of region failures.

We are looking for a passionate, deeply technical, and results-oriented Software Development Manager to define and drive Transactional Data Movement initiatives, and drive fundamental architectural changes across the Amazon software stack to enable this vision.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of experienced software developers to design, develop, deploy, and support key features of the data movement tools.
- Lead the development of the data movement tools while supporting the current generation of the tools.
- Lead recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and building a positive team culture.
- Connect with customers on a regular basis, build the roadmap for the team, collaborate with the product manager team and other sister teams to execute on new projects.

The Transact organization supports the Amazon builders by providing technologies for Transaction Storage, high cardinality configuration storages, and safe movement of Amazon Data. Our projects support Amazon businesses like Stores, Alexa, Kindle, and Prime Video. We drive adoption of ever-evolving AWS and non-AWS technologies, and work closely with AWS teams to improve AWS public offerings. - 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
