Job Description

VMware vSphere; Microsoft Hyper V; KVM
Primary Skills Design; deploy; and manage hypervisor platforms; such as VMware vSphere; Microsoft Hyper-V; or KVM.
Secondary Skills Collaborate with infrastructure teams to plan and implement scaling strategies for virtualized environments.
Responsibilities
Design; deploy; and manage hypervisor platforms; such as VMware vSphere; Microsoft Hyper-V; or KVM. Configure and optimize hypervisor settings for different use cases; ensuring efficient resource allocation and workload distribution. Virtual Machine Provisioning and Maintenance: Create and manage virtual machines based on the requirements of various departments and projects. Monitor and maintain virtual machine performance; ensuring adequate resources; responsiveness; and uptime.
Performance Optimization and Scalability. Monitor hypervisor and virtual machine performance; identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks.
Secondary - Collaborate with infrastructure teams to plan and implement scaling strategies for virtualized environments. Backup and Disaster Recovery. Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtualized systems. Test and refine disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and minimal downtime. Security and Compliance. Implement security measures to safeguard virtualized environments from unauthorized access and breaches. Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal security policies.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution Troubleshoot and resolve hypervisor-related issues; including virtual machine crashes; resource allocation problems; and network connectivity. Provide timely support to IT teams and end-users for virtualization-related queries and problems. Automation and Scripting. Develop scripts and automation workflows to streamline hypervisor and virtual machine management tasks. Work on continuous improvement of operational efficiency through automation.
Documentation and Training: Maintain comprehensive documentation of hypervisor configurations; procedures; and troubleshooting steps. Provide training and knowledge sharing sessions for IT staff regarding best practices and efficient use of virtualization technologies .
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with network; storage; and application teams to ensure seamless integration of virtualized systems. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide appropriate solutions.- Proven experience as a Hypervisor Engineer; Virtualization Engineer; or a similar role. Strong expertise in virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere; Microsoft Hyper-V; or KVM. Familiarity with storage and networking concepts related to virtualization.
