Job Description – Data Center Facility SME (Junior Level – MEP, PMO & Service Enablement)

Role: Junior Data Center Facility Specialist – MEP & Implementation Support
Location: Mumbai (with travel to data center sites and client locations as required)

Key Responsibilities:

MEP Systems Oversight:

Assist in the planning, installation, and maintenance of MEP systems within data center environments.
Monitor and report on the performance of mechanical (HVAC), electrical (UPS, power distribution), and plumbing systems.
Support troubleshooting and resolution of MEP-related issues in coordination with vendors and facility teams.

Design Validation & As-Built Review:

Review proposed MEP designs and infrastructure layouts for feasibility, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Validate “as-built” drawings against approved designs and ensure documentation accuracy.
Provide feedback to design consultants and project teams to enhance implementation quality.

Implementation PMO Support:

Coordinate with project managers and technical teams to track MEP-related milestones in infrastructure rollouts.
Maintain project documentation including schedules, risk logs, and progress reports.
Ensure timely execution of MEP components in alignment with overall project timelines.

Service Catalog Development:

Collaborate with senior SMEs and sales teams to define and document facility-related services (e.g., power provisioning, cooling capacity, rack space).
Contribute to service descriptions, SLAs, and operational procedures for MEP services.
Ensure services are aligned with client expectations and facility capabilities.

Sales Enablement & Technical Support:

Support the sales team with technical inputs related to MEP infrastructure during client engagements.
Assist in proposal development and client presentations by providing facility-specific insights.
Help identify opportunities to enhance service offerings based on operational data and client feedback.

Required Skills & Experience:

5–7 years of experience in data center facility operations with a focus on MEP systems.
Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, fire suppression, and plumbing systems in critical environments.
Familiarity with design validation processes and interpreting technical drawings (AutoCAD, etc.).
Exposure to project coordination and PMO practices.
Strong documentation, coordination, and communication skills.

Educational Qualifications:

Degree or Graduate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facility Engineering.
Certifications in data center operations (e.g., CDCP), MEP systems, or project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2 Foundation) are a plus.
