Amazon is hiring a Senior Product Manager for the Vendor Investigations & Transaction Accuracy (VITA) team to lead the development of next-generation machine learning detection systems that protect Amazon's business at massive scale. Key job responsibilities
• Develop deep understanding of pattern recognition needs across Amazon's vast data ecosystem to detect anomalies and duplicates at scale.
• Define product strategy and roadmap for machine learning-powered detection platforms that identify irregular patterns and duplicate entries.
• Drive the development of sophisticated detection algorithms in partnership with data scientists and ML engineers.
• Establish detection thresholds, rules, and automated response mechanisms that balance accuracy with performance.
• Lead the design and implementation of real-time and batch detection systems that can process billions of transactions.
• Define and monitor key performance metrics including detection accuracy, false positive/negative rates, and system performance.
• Manage trade-offs between detection precision, recall, processing speed, and resource utilization.
• Collaborate with ML teams to continuously improve model performance through feature engineering and algorithm optimization.
• Build intuitive interfaces and workflows for configuring detection rules and investigating alerts.
• Define data quality standards and validation frameworks to ensure reliable detection outcomes.
• Drive integration with downstream systems to enable automated actions based on detection results.
• Establish mechanisms to measure and improve detection accuracy across different use cases and data types.
• Partner with engineering teams to ensure detection systems meet scalability, reliability and latency requirements.
• Create comprehensive documentation and training materials for detection system capabilities and best practices.
• Mentor team members on machine learning concepts and detection system design principles.
• Stay current with latest developments in anomaly detection, pattern recognition and machine learning technologies.
• Proactively identify opportunities to apply new ML techniques to improve detection capabilities.- 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience as a product manager or owner
- Experience owning technology products
- Experience in the Procure to Pay process
