Amazon is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join its Direct Tax Reporting team in Hyderabad, India supporting the Foreign Reporting and Compliance, Withholding Tax Team. The Amazon Tax Department is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment. The mission of the Foreign Tax Reporting and Compliance team is to comply with foreign local tax reporting requirements and manage the worldwide, tax-related filings of Amazon’s foreign entities.

This position will collaborate with tax, accounting, audit and technology teams, leveraging your expertise to drive process improvements, enhancing controls and drive standardisation. Your work will directly contribute to optimizing our operations, controllership and ensuring compliance as our business grows.

Key job responsibilities

• Collaborate with global teams to implement tax controllership initiatives.
• Review and lead the documentation of tax technical positions and processes.
• Identify and develop risk management strategy for key risk areas and gaps in existing processes.
• Drive standardisation and process improvements to streamline operations, achieve efficiencies, and develop performance metrics.
• Document and communicate project status, including preparing materials for leadership.
• Provide internal and external audit support.
• Monitor and track for ACS 450/FAS5 tax contingencies. Maintain, enhance, monitor and document controls.

In this role, you will focus on leading projects, conducting audits, improving processes and controls. Your day will involve engaging with various teams, acting as a subject matter expert, and utilizing technology to achieve efficient results in a fast paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment. A successful candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, a strong technical, analytical and problem solving ability.

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
- 4+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Experience researching tax issues
- Financial / Accounting knowledge
