How will you make an impact in this role?
The Service Management (SM) team maintains a holistic view of the financial data ecosystem, continuously monitoring sources, processes, and outputs, enable rapid troubleshooting, operational triage, and resolution of issues across systems managing data ingestion, enrichment and downstream delivery.
In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring data ingestion, managing the transformation of input data from multiple source systems and ensure accurate and timely delivery to downstream platforms for finance and regulatory reporting.
This role focuses on issue management within the Finance Data Acquisition & Enrichment Layer with Controls (FALCON). It spans a diverse technology ecosystem and requires close collaboration with teams that manage and monitor intermediate systems such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), MEMSQL, Real-time data streaming, In-memory data processing, managing job schedulers and ensuring timely delivery to downstream platforms for finance and regulatory reporting.
The incumbent will be responsible for end-to-end operational monitoring, including incident tracking, triage, and problem management, to ensure seamless performance, reliability and stability across FALCON.
Responsibilities:
Support in documenting, tracking and resolving issues & changes impacting the FDM Operational processes. Prepare documentation, SOPs, dashboards, reporting and presentations.
Raising production incidents and driving issue resolution through tactical fixes, root cause analysis, permanent fixes.
Responsible for ensuring successful completion of all operational activities.
Retrieve and analyze the data from underlying analytical/operational databases to develop understanding.
Open to working over the weekends on a rotational basis.
Manage and track operational issues and problem tickets related to FALCON.
Coordinate with upstream and downstream system owners for root cause analysis and resolution.
Ensure timely ingestion, transformation, and enrichment of SOR data for finance and regulatory use.
Maintain control adherence and reporting accuracy across all operational processes.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and automation opportunities within FALCON operations.
Qualifications
Strong background in production support with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues efficiently.
Demonstrated excellence in coordination, problem-solving, and communication, with the ability to translate complex information effectively across teams.
Good written and verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Experience working within globally distributed and culturally diverse teams, supporting enterprise-wide or cross-regional processes.
Proven transformational mindset, with a focus on improving process efficiency and operational effectiveness.
Advanced SQL skills for querying, analyzing, and validating large data sets.
Strong understanding of automation opportunities, with the ability to identify use cases and drive implementation within the team.
Experience on Google Cloud Platform and Generative AI would be a huge plus.
Familiarity with American Express accounting and reporting processes, including financial and regulatory reporting, is a plus (not mandatory).
Minimum of 3-year experience in Production Support role.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries and performing multi-table joins.
Exposure to platforms and tools such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Mainframe systems, Kafka, RTF, Airflow, and Automic (preferred)
Experience in Generative AI frameworks would be an added advantage.
Working knowledge of Java for backend development and automation scripting.
Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, MemSQL, and Putty for incident triage, reporting, and operational support.
Academic Background
Bachelor’s\ master’s degree required preferably in computer science.
