Job Title: Associate Director – Sports Advisory

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Associate Director to lead education-related initiatives within our Sports Advisory vertical at KPMG. The ideal candidate should have 8–10 years of experience in the Indian education sector, with a strong understanding of sports development within education, and a proven ability to work with government, academic, and private sector stakeholders. This leadership role involves independently designing and driving strategic education frameworks, policies, and partnerships that integrate sports into India’s education ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership in Education Strategy & Framework Development
• Develop curriculum models, training programs, and high-performance education-linked sports pathways.
• Lead advisory engagements focused on sports education policy, skill development, talent identification, and academic-athlete programs.
• Create models for sports universities, sports schools, and Centre of Excellence (CoE) programs.

2. Stakeholder Management & Sector Engagement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government ministries (MoE, MYAS), education boards (CBSE, ICSE, state boards), universities, EdTech players, and private schools/groups.
• Collaborate with international academic institutions and sports science/education experts to bring global best practices to Indian programs.

4. Business Development & Proposal Leadership
• Drive new business opportunities and respond to EOIs, RFPs, and government tenders related to education and sports.
• Lead proposal development, project costing, stakeholder alignment, and delivery plans for large-scale projects.
• Support the firm’s go-to-market strategy in the education-sports domain, including pitch development and thought leadership.

5. Project & Team Management
• Manage multi-disciplinary teams on large consulting engagements involving education reform, sports infrastructure in schools, or grassroots talent development.
• Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of client projects, meeting both strategic and operational objectives.
• Mentor junior consultants and analysts, creating capacity within the sports-education vertical.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

- Educational Background: Master’s degree in Education, Public Policy, Sports Management, Development Studies, or related disciplines.
- Industry Experience: 8–10 years in the education sector with experience integrating sports or physical education programs, preferably in leadership or consulting roles.
- Policy & Framework Design: Demonstrated experience in creating educational frameworks, government policy documents, or curriculum guidelines.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Strong existing network across government education departments, schools, universities, EdTech’s, and NGOs.
- Business Acumen: Experience in managing or leading large-scale advisory projects, proposal writing, budgeting, and program execution.
- Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Ability to blend education and sports objectives into implementable strategies.
-Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
