We're seeking a visionary Senior Software Development Manager to establish and lead a new engineering center in Bengaluru.

- Build and lead a high-performing engineering team from the ground up
- Drive innovation across our foundational services layer (enabling secure photo/video storage, computer vision capabilities, slideshow/memories curation, and data insights)
- Shape the technical direction of key features that millions of customers use daily

Key job responsibilities
- Build and scale a high-performing engineering organization in Bengaluru through strategic hiring, mentoring, and talent development

- Foster an innovative engineering culture that emphasizes technical excellence, operational rigor, and customer obsession

- Drive architectural decisions and technical strategy for foundational services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security

- Lead multiple concurrent strategic initiatives while collaborating with global stakeholders across Product, Design, Science, and Engineering teams

- Identify emerging technologies and opportunities to evolve our technical roadmap, particularly in your domain
- Represent Amazon Photos engineering in India while building strong partnerships with teams across Amazon's technical community

- 7+ years of engineering team management experience
- 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
- Experience operating large-scale high-traffic services with multiple upstream clients
