Job Description

Develop, analyze and maintain tools that support and automate processes for hardware or software product release.

Department Description:

The HCM Operations team is responsible for Release Engineering and Environment Maintenance for the Fusion HCM Development family.

Our tasks include managing builds, producing development tools, designing and maintaining development processes as well as planning, creating and maintaining environments.

Our team does not develop any customer facing functionality of its own, but its activities are central and critical to the success of all of the teams within HCM Development which do design,

deliver and QA test product code.
Detailed Description and Job Requirements:

Develop, analyze and maintain tools that support and automate processes for hardware or software product release.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will perform detailed design based on provided high level design specifications.

Assist in system planning, scheduling and implementation. Build enhancements (including new product features) and resolve bugs.

Interact with QA and porting engineering about problems in the code.

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures.

Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes.

BE/ME/MTech or equivalent experience relevant to functional area is required.

Release Engineer Technical Skills:

1. 3 to 5 years of Build/Release experience in a reputed organization.

2. Expertise over Build, Deployment and management of Linux environments for effective application rollouts.

3. Experience in patching/upgrading of software products is a plus.

4. Strong in scripting languages like Perl/Shell/Python is a must.

5. Must be very detail oriented and pay attention to detail.

6. Knowledge on Oracle Fusion middleware products , primarily Oracle Weblogic, SOA, WLST scripting and Identity Management is a plus.

7. Jenkins experience is a plus.

8. Knowledge of Weblogic tuning and deployments.

9. Broad Technical Background in databases, Middleware and Linux Platforms.

Release engineer responsibilities:

1. Ability to work in US timezone.

2. Work will involve keeping track of patching activities related to customer instances.

3. Automate build and deployment process and maintain the existing codebase.

4. Install and upgrade various HCM applications.

5. Taking ownership of the tasks and take it to completion.

6. Communicate and support Development and QA teams on various environment issues.

7. Manage various Linux based environments.

8. Troubleshoot various build and deploy issues.

Interact with QA and porting engineering about problems in the code.

Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically one year of software engineering or related experience needed.
