Role: Murex Back Office Technical Business Analyst (Tech BA)

Experience: 6–10 Years

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Murex Back Office Technical Business Analyst to join the client team of a leading UK based bank. This role combines strong functional knowledge of Back Office processes with technical expertise in Murex workflows and configurations. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and development teams to deliver solutions that meet operational and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the functional and technical liaison between business users and technology teams for Murex Back Office projects.
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to settlements, confirmations, and payment workflows.
Translate functional requirements into technical specifications for developers and ensure accurate implementation.
Configure and validate Murex workflows, templates, events, and tasks for Back Office processes.
Support regulatory compliance initiatives (e.g., EMIR, MiFID, Dodd-Frank) impacting Back Office operations.
Perform impact analysis for new requirements and system changes.
Assist in SIT/UAT testing, troubleshooting, and defect resolution.
Collaborate on integration points with external systems (SWIFT, payment gateways) and ensure smooth data flow.
Prepare detailed functional and technical documentation for workflows and processes.

Required Skills & Experience:

6–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst in capital markets or treasury environments.
Strong knowledge of Murex Back Office modules, including settlements and confirmations.
Hands-on experience with Murex workflow configuration (templates, events, tasks).
Solid understanding of settlement & confirmation processes across multiple asset classes (FX, derivatives, fixed income).
Technical proficiency in SQL, Unix scripting, and ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot issues.
Familiarity with integration protocols (MQ, XML, APIs) and messaging standards (SWIFT).
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
