About this Role:

At Fam, we're building technology that reshapes how young India experiences and interacts with money. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of this mission — designing, building, and scaling critical backend systems that power financial experiences for millions of teenagers and young adults.

You’ll bring deep technical expertise, a product-focused mindset, and a strong bias toward execution. Whether it's building new services, improving system performance, or making architectural decisions, your work will have a direct and measurable impact on our product and users.

On the Job

5–7 years of backend development experience in fast-paced, product-focused environments.

Strong coding skills in at least one of the following: Java, Go, Python

Solid understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, algorithms, and system design.

Experience working with SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).

Familiarity with cloud environments like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Proficiency with Linux systems and basic DevOps workflows.

Exposure to containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.

A user-first approach to solving technical problems with a strong sense of ownership.

Must-haves (Minimum qualifications)

Design and implement robust backend systems that scale gracefully as we grow.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, infrastructure) to deliver high-quality solutions.

Drive development from concept to deployment — including writing well-tested, maintainable code.

Help troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve system reliability and uptime.

Contribute to system architecture, code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers.

Stay current with emerging tools and technologies and help adopt them where they bring value.
