Job Description

We are looking for a seasoned Database Engineer with a strong background in Oracle database. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our database systems, particularly focusing on complex queries and performance optimization to support our business objectives.

As a Database Engineer, you will be working together with a team of skilled software engineers to build out and maintain our Equity Management SaaS Application.

You will be responsible for implementing new features, enhancements, and fixes to the product through work items planned in the current sprint and actively participating in planning, refinement, and retrospective meetings.

You will be working in a product team, alongside Engineers and QA Engineers, following an Agile SDLC to create new products and maintain existing applications built with C#, .Net, Angular, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Oracle PL/SQL. Responsibilities

· Design and implement robust, scalable, and high-performing database solutions using Oracle.

· Write complex SQL queries and optimize them for maximum efficiency and scalability.

· Perform database tuning, monitoring, and optimization to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.

· Design and develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures.

· Analyze existing systems and propose improvements and new solutions.

· Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide database solutions.

· Provide support for database issues that may arise and ensure rapid resolution.

· Focus and commitment to solving complex software development items that meet customer expectations.

· Be involved with SDLC from requirements to test but own executing development of features & bug fixes that is clean, reusable, maintainable code

· Build quality into all tasks, ensure adequate unit testing and support quality assurance engineers in testing completed items

· Lead code reviews and design discussions

· Keep abreast of the latest technologies and trends in database management

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience

· 6+ years of experience working with large-scale relational Databases like Oracle/SQL Server

· 3+ years of strong design and development experience in Oracle databases and PL/SQL

· Proficient in SQL and database management concepts

· Proficient in creating logical and physical data models

· Strong experience in SQL for database querying and manipulation

· Strong experience in database optimization and performance tuning

· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

· Ability to mentor Junior-level engineers in best practices

· Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies

· Experience with GIT

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – written and verbal

· Strong collaboration skills

Preferred skills:

· Experience building apps in financial domain is a plus.

· Experience working in web applications built with .Net, Angular is a plus.

· Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.

· Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.) and Oracle Cloud solutions
